Thanks to Todd Lyons at SE Bikes for this incredible footage of Big Daddy!
SE Bike's very own bodyguard, Pat Laughlin AKA “Big Daddy” comes through with a clean edit filled with heavy hitting style and classic Big Daddy tricks. He hits San Diego hard by shredding the streets, skateparks, and trails. He finishes off with some wild bangers at Ben Snowden's backyard in the OC. Don’t hold your breath for any goofy Big Daddy antics in this edit. This one is pure BMX & his riding does all of the talking.
News Release from SE Bikes!
SE Bikes has just signed Elite Pro “dR” Donny Robinson to a multi-year deal. Donny will be racing for SE at all pro series USA BMX nationals, the UCI World Cup series, and the UCI World Championships for years to come.
Donny is a life-long BMXer with an Olympic medal and many National and World titles under his belt. He has been competing as an Elite pro for over ten years and has amassed fans from all over the world. “SE is BMX racing! I’m excited to continue my career with a brand that has been here since BMX’s beginnings. I’m hugely grateful to SE for believing in my abilities and signing me to a multi-year deal. I’m stoked to have the backing to be out there for years to come & put on the best show that I can,” Donny said
Donny will be racing on the all-new 2013 PK Ripper Elite frame. This frame was completely redesigned for maximum stiffness in 2013 with a new bi-oval downtube and direct-weld ovalized chainstays. “We really went back to the drawing board with this year’s frame design. The tracks have changed dramatically over the past few years with the UCI World Cup series. So we needed a frame that could not only keep up, but one that can win races and be on top of the podium. And Donny’s just the right guy for the job. He’s been on top of many podiums over the years and he’s no stranger to winning,” said Todd Lyons, SE Brand Manager.
The USA BMX pro series season kicks off this weekend in Phoenix, AZ. Keep an eye out for Donny winning laps on his PK Ripper Elite.

SE Bikes is proud to announce the sponsorship of Elite French Elite racer Moana Moo-Caille. Twenty-four year old Moana had one of the best seasons of his career last year with a 3rd place in Elite at the UCI World Championships as well as competing in the 2012 Olympic Games. He is a Junior World Champion & is very familiar with sitting at the top of the podium at large international races. His schedule this year will have him hitting all of the French National races, the European BMX rounds, the UCI World Cup Series, the World Championships, as well as select USA BMX races. All in all, Moana will compete in over 10 countries in 2013 with his first race for SE being the USA BMX season opener in Phoenix, AZ March 2-3.
Moana is one of the most stylish racers in the world & is never scared to hit the biggest jumps he can find. He learned backflips this past year so it’s just a matter of time until he’s following the Wildman’s footsteps & flipping pro sections on BMX tracks around the world.
“I’m excited to ride for a brand with so much history as SE Bikes. I mean they’ve been around for 10 years longer than I’ve been alive! And I LOVE the new Elite Series BMX race line. The first day I rode the PK Ripper Elite XL, it was like home to me. It’s super stiff. I can’t wait to hit the races this year on it.” Moana said.
SE Brand Manager Todd Lyons goes on to say “This is the first time that SE has sponsored an Elite Pro racer outside of the USA. Out of all of the riders to choose from, Moana was an easy choice. I really like his attitude and style on and off the bike. He’s going to be great for the brand not only in Europe, but worldwide. We are also fortunate to work his sponsorship in conjunction with the SE Bikes French distributor, Race Co.” (http://www.raceco-bmx.com/)
The SE Bikes racing team has been revamped for 2013 & soon we will announce some other really exciting additions to the factory squad. Stay tuned.

At just 18 years old, Edgar has already won three Gatorade Free Flow Tour stops at Da Compound Ramp Park in Lake Perris, CA. Update from SE Bikes!
SE Bikes is pleased to announce the addition of not one, but two great additions to the SE crew: Mike Gonzalez and Kris Fox. They bring years of experience in the BMX world and offer unique skills & knowledge of the industry to the SE brand. These guys are complete shredders on their bikes, but they will be doing much more than just riding for the SE brand. Mike has just been hired on as a full-time SE Product Advisor, and Kris will take the reins in the new position of Freestyle Team Manager.
Mike spent more than a decade competing in BMX races across the country. He went on to turn pro & made a name for himself with his unbelievable bike handling skills. Mike set his race bike down a few years ago and has since been riding trails & skateparks. He spent the last year in Austin, Texas riding with some of the best riders on the planet.
In Mike's new role as Product Advisor, he will work closely with Brand Manager Todd Lyons on the design & spec for all SE bikes, parts, and accessories. Mike will be moving back to his home city of Philadelphia & will start his new position on June 1st, working out of SE headquarters.
"I couldn't be happier to move back home to Pennsylvania for such a great job!" Mike said. "I look forward to working with the Wildman to design some of the raddest SE Bikes yet."
Kris Fox had an awesome racing career, winning many amateur titles, and he was one of only eight Elite Pro racers invited to race at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2008. After that grueling year of chasing the Olympic dream, Kris shifted his focus to trails & skateparks. Over the past two years, he's really made an impact in the freestyle world with his race- inspired smooth style & huge air. Kris has received a ton of coverage lately & recently scored the cover of the May ‘11 issue of BMX Plus magazine. Besides riding, Kris will now be in charge of expanding & managing the SE freestyle team & commandeering road trips, photoshoots, and video edits.
"I am stoked to be a part of SE Bikes - not only as a rider but also as someone who can expand SE's brand recognition in the freestyle world," explained Kris. "I know that SE makes some badass bikes. I just need to sponsor some more shredders, do some road trips, have fun, and get the word out!"
SE Bikes would like to officially welcome Kris & Mike to the SE crew!

The Big Daddy himself will be the biggest boob on the boob tube TONIGHT when Fuel TV's Thrillbillies episode airs. Big Daddy filmed all summer long for the show & wrecked himself numerous times. Catch the first episode tonight & tune in weekly for more Big Daddy fun on the boob tube.
Here's what the Thrillbillies have to say about Big Daddy:
"Pat is a Jersey boy who speaks funny English and likes attention. He gets a lot of it because of his sensational BMX skills, but outside of that, he's not good at anything. That's why he's fun to have around. There's nothing like watching your buddy crash and burn."

SE has released the following news update:
SE x Oakley Collaboration Projects!
SE Bikes & Oakley have teamed up this year to bring you not one, not two, but THREE(!) ultra special collaboration projects. Check 'em out:
The much sought after Oakley B1-B re-issue grips will be outfitted on SE's 2011 retro PK Ripper Looptail bike. Oakley is releasing this famous grip for the first time since the mid 80s. If you didn't know, Oakley started making BMX & MX grips long before they ever made sunglasses. This new re-issue run of the B1-B grips will consist of five different colorways with only 500 pair of each color being produced. But the 2011 PK Ripper Looptail will come with a VERY exclusive color of black-on-black that is not available anywhere else. Only 200 of this limited edition bike will be available in the USA this year.
The PK Ripper Looptail will be available in the USA at select SE retailers in February 2011 with an MSRP of $700
To coincide with the grips, SE & Oakley have joined forces to create the SE x Oakley Factory Pilot glove. This "Team Fit" glove dons the classic SE Racing & Oakley Factory Pilot logos. But the cool factor does not stop there. This glove has a short & tight cuff for greater wrist articulation, a perforated thumb knuckle pad, out turned seams on the fingers, and "B1-B" grip inspired finger grippers for excellent adhesion the the grips.
The SE x Oakley Factory Pilot gloves witll be available in the USA at select SE retailers & at http://www.buysestuff.com/ in April 2011 with an MSRP of $30
Of course a collaboration project with Oakley would not be complete without a collab pair of sunglasses. And what better glasses to join the two original brands together than the Oakley Frogskins? That's right, Oakley has acquired SE's blue & brown colorway & famous "SE Racing" logo & combined them with the most famous sunglasses of all time, the Oakley Frogskins. These glasses are SUPER limited with only 200 pair available worldwide & available strickly through SE retailers. One hundred pair have been sent to select SE distributors across the globe & the other 100 pair have stayed in the USA. If you want to find a pair of the SE x Oakley Grogskins, you better start hunting. These are SUPER limited!
The SE x Oakley Frogskins are available now in the USA at a few VERY select retailers with an MSRP of $120.
Thanks to Todd Lyons at SE for the following update:
After many years of competing at the AA Pro/Elite level, Javier Colombo has decided to move into the Vet Pro class for the 2011 race season at 32 years of age. Our Argentinian distributor http://www.lirasport.com.ar/ says it best in their ad. English translation below:
"Javier Columbo has said goodbye to the AA/Elite class. His last race as AA/Elite in the USA was the NBL Grands in Louisville, Kentucky in the beginning of September. Javi was the first Argentinean to accomplish a few things on the Elite class. In 2000 at the UCI world Championship held in Cordoba, Argentina, he was the first Argentinean ever to make a main event in the Elite class and placed 5th Six years later he made history again when he won the UCI world Championship title in Sao Paulo, Brazil becoming not only the first Argentinean, but the ONLY South American to win the World Championship 20" Elite title."
For all you have accomplished Javier, we want to say THANK YOU and we wish you the best in the Vet Pro class!

Dates for 2010 National Championships in Australia announced
'BMX Australia and Greater Shepparton City Council are pleased to announce the dates for the 2010 National BMX Championships will be on the 5-9 May 2010... "We expect the event will bring around 5000 people to the area during the seven day competition," Cr Dobson said.'
Rarely does PK RIPPER HEAVEN cover non-bmx news... big wave surfing is too rad to ignore. Having scoped out (with my camera) the Bonzai Pipeline action on Oahu's North Shore on Oct 23rd, I was impressed (see 10/25 post http://www.pkripperheaven.com/newsarchives.htm). The waves are expected to be three times as big by tomorrow. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article6948781.ece
'Thousands of surfers and surfing fans have converged on the beaches of Hawaii to witness some of the largest waves seen in the state in half a decade.
The surf on the islands of Maui, Oahu and Molokai is forecast to top 50ft (15m) in height by tomorrow, but according to some surfers in Oahu the waves have already reached that size.
The unusual conditions are likely to trigger the rarely-held Quiksilver big wave surfing contest, held in memory of Eddie Aikau, if waves reach a minimum of 20ft (6m). The contest was last staged in 2004.
Traffic was clogged, and observers packed the shoreline or roadside to watch some of the world’s most audacious surfers take on the big waves. Some beaches on Oahu and Maui were closed because lifeguards feared that inexperienced sightseers could drown, according to state officials.'
